It’s 2.30pm and I have already made it to my campsite, Kwokralup Beela. Yes, the thought, Should I push on? entered my head, but I quickly smothered it with, Have you already forgotten what happened two days ago? So, right now I am sitting by the flowing waters of the Frankland River hoping to capture some avian activity on film. I feel relaxed and happy. This is what it is all about. There is no need to rush things. I had started this trip with the idea that I wouldn’t start any day with an alarm clock, but I have resigned myself to the fact that, to have a cruisy riding day, I need to get moving a little earlier and a little faster. For me, this requires an alarm. I have kept my gear packed up as much as possible (I have a tendency to spread out into whatever space I am afforded, no matter how big) and will be awoken in the morning at 6am in an effort to leave by 7.30am. Yes, it takes me that long to wake up and going.
