Rain, rain, rain. All through the night and most of the day. No wild storms as predicted, just a constant drizzle. It was actually quite pleasant to ride through – just enough wet for a perfect evaporative cooling effect so I didn’t boil in my full wet weather gear. I made it to Dwellingup for lunch and treated myself to a burger and chips before making an attempt to replenish supplies at the local IGA. The shop was seriously lacking in fresh food. I settled on some floppy carrots and spotty Granny Smith’s. Let’s hope I fare better in Jarrahdale. The end of the trail is nigh and I am starting to get excited about finishing. I found the pea gravel today, but it wasn’t too bad at all. It was another big day of riding and I nearly lost my race against the descending sun, just making it to the campsite as the last of the day’s light faded away.
