Waking up in a donga felt like waking up in a hotel. Nice hot shower. Mess food for breakfast. The ride was very pleasant. It was hilly, but the wind was not against me so I still felt like I was flying along and the scenery was beautiful. I stopped for a rest at a parking area where I enjoyed a beer with Tommo, a truckie who was waiting for a ginormous truck to pull his large truck over one of the hills I rode over earlier in the day. I am currently waiting for my pasta to cook at the base of Mt Bruce, which is Western Australia’s second tallest peak, but just a little hill by international standards. I will hike to the top in the morning. The setting sun is striking the hill with beautifully angled light. Tonight I will just throw my bed down under the roof of the drop toilet shelter. It is a new structure and hasn’t had time to develop a repulsive odour. Sleeping under a roof with a private dunny: luxury!
