I struggled out of bed and met Sam and Jordan at the bar/restaurant, where we piled into a ute. Sam drove. It was relaxing being rocked by the rough terrain and I daydreamed happily. On reaching the end of a bush track, we set out on foot. Sam led and walked fast. Nearly an hour later we arrived at our destination: mid-Sir John Gorge, a tranquil spot with water to swim in, rock art to find and naps to be had. We swam and slept and swam some more. Back home, the camp manager suggested I think about staying longer and working as a volunteer, doing odd jobs in return for food and accommodation. We will have a proper chat about it tomorrow.
