I see a great variety of items lying on the Gibb River Road. Today, as if a sign from above, there was a maroon-coloured, faux-leather-bound, gold-embossed Holy Bible lying in the dust. I briefly thought about strapping it to my bike so I can scare away annoying people by greeting them with, ‘Hi there. Can I talk to you about Jesus?’ Instead, I left it in the dirt in case it is found by someone who might appreciate it more than me. I woke up at Adcock Gorge, had a nice break from riding at Galvan’s Gorge, and now I am camped at Mt Barnett, ready to venture in to Manning Gorge. I got a fright earlier in the day when a passing 4WD blew a tyre right next to me.
