Day 187 (Australia – The Gibb Day 28)

I am sure I will learn over and over that you never know what great surprises are around the next corner. I woke up at Creek Crossing physically exhausted and fed up, in need of a rest day. Shortly into the day’s ride a guy stopped to take a photo of me and gave me a mango as a ‘reward’. So so so yum! Then I reached the beautiful oasis of Ellenbrae. Larissa and Logan have been here for just three months as managers. I could not have received a warmer welcome. ‘Treat it like your home’, they said. They put me up in one of their cabins, complete with a queen size bed. I was invited to join them (and another couple, JR and Bernie, who were helping out while Logan recovers from a broken leg) for lunch (quiche) and dinner (lasagne). I had a very chilled afternoon chatting with the guys in their kitchen/lounge and playing UNO Rummy on the back deck. And I got to have a decent wash!
