I met up with Francesca and Aurielle at 7am and we drove out to Zebedee Springs. Regan and Daisy, who I had chatted to the night before at camp, were also there. Our next stop was El Questro Gorge. We made it three quarters of the way to the end of the walking trail when Francesca and Aurielle felt ready to turn back. I was keen to keep going so I was happy when Regan and Daisy turned up, along with three other backpackers: Sanne, Rachel and Jannis. They all helped convince Francesca and Aurielle to continue, so on we walked. El Questro Gorge is one of the nicest places I have seen on my whole trip. We all returned to the carpark together, then I jumped into Jannis’s car with Sanne and Rachel to join them and Daisy and Regan to watch the sun set from a nearby lookout. On the way the car ran out of petrol and was overheating – the joys of a backpacker car with a broken fuel gauge and dodgy radiator. Luckily, Yanis had spare fuel on board so we refilled then limped the car back to camp. As the night wore on a big circle of fellow travellers gathered and we chatted into the night. Very cool day.

What relief!
