I planned on applying for my Indonesian visa today. I went to the library to print some documents then visited the Indonesian Consulate where I was told that if I intend to enter Indonesia overland from Timor-Leste then I will have to apply in Dili. That put a quick end to that task. I turned my attention to my Chinese and Pakistan visas and in the end decided to apply for these while on the road. This will free me from any visa-based deadlines – if I were to get them while in Australia I would only have a certain period of time to enter each country and I would have an incredible rush on my hands to reach each country in time. I should be able to get the Chinese visa from Hanoi. To get the Pakistan visa, I will probably have to send my passport home to Australia and enlist the help of my brother to put together my visa application and send it off to Canberra. I stayed up late to let my cousin Tricia into the apartment after she flew in from Sydney.
