It’s Christmas Day! I never got myself excited about this Christmas because I had no idea where I would be. Being back in Dili meant I could join in the celebration with my Timor friends. A lazy morning led to an awesome Christmas lunch. Belinda cooked a feast that we enjoyed at Ben’s house with Joel and Nick. Then we chilled out by the swimming pool. We had just started thinking about heading out when someone had the terrible idea of playing Centurion: 100 shots of beer in 100 minutes. We subsequently proceeded to get extremely drunk. Fortunately, we ran out of beer at 62. We arrived at Dili Beach Hotel as they were closing up. It was only early, but they were keen to enjoy the night too so had decided to shut their doors for the night. We convinced them to let us buy several rounds of drinks at once and stay in the open bar area – there would just be no one around to offer further bar service and we would have to let ourselves out when we were done. We had fun playing pool. My memory from this point gets fuzzy. At some point we left for Tiger Fuel where we ate some deliciously gross pizza. At some point I made it home.
