I ended up at a Timorese wedding tonight. I had organised to stay with Emily while Ben was away and was expecting to meet her at her place when she got home from a wedding. In the end she invited me to the wedding and I got there in the midst of the reception. The dancefloor was pumping. I got a beer and joined in, learning a couple of group dances in the process and generally making a fool of myself. Now I’m back at Emily’s house. Things get serious again tomorrow as I try and repair my gear system with parts Emily brought over from Australia. The parts I needed were sent from the UK to my cousin in Melbourne, who delivered them to Emily, who was on holiday in Melbourne over Christmas – such a journey was needed because there is no mail service in Timor-Leste.
