Day 313 (Indonesia – Flores Day 30)

In what may be a recurring theme over the next few days, I am drunk and struggling to write clearly. I woke up early and waited patiently for Jayden and Megs to move. We had a full breakfast (so amazing to have an all-you-can eat buffet!) before heading into town. We caught up with my friend Laura, who filled us in on how to find the best boat trip for an adventure to Komodo and Rinca Islands. Then we hired a couple of scooters to get around more easily. After a delicious lunch in town, we returned to the resort where we spent several hours at the pool. The setting sun told us we should make a move to Paradise Bar, where we caught up with Laura and Willy. We also organised a boat trip directly with the captain of a boat. We had a break from the bar to head to the night market for an incredible seafood dinner. Back at the bar, arak was being shared liberally and Jayden entertained us by playing drums with the band. We had a reckless but thrilling scooter ride home.

“Entertained” doesn’t necessarily translate to “competent” after the amount of alcohol that was consumed that day. Fortunately I can ride a scooter better than I can play drums! Top night.

Haha sure was! And my non-musically trained ears thought you were pretty good…but then I was drunk too. It’s nice to be reliving such a fun time 😀
