Finally, I’m on the road again. The day went smoothly. I still didn’t dare sit on my bike, so I rode standing up again as I made my way to Lembar, from where I could catch a ferry to Bali. I ended up taking some back roads to get there, passing through quaint villages on narrow roads between lush fields of rice. Just ten minutes after sitting down on the ferry, we were off, landing in Bali four hours later. After a quick ride around town (Padangbai), I scored a cheap price for a nice room at a guesthouse, complete with a buffet breakfast to look forward to. I had originally chosen another place to stay but on my way there I let a lady coerce me into having a look at her place and I couldn’t refuse the deal she offered.
