I scored an unexpected free breakfast before squeezing myself through the busy traffic of Bali’s main road and enduring another day on the bike. I had a couple of breaks on my way to Gilimanuk, the port town from which I caught a AU$0.70 ferry ride over to the island of Java. It was a relatively short ferry ride, so I took up position on a stairwell from where I could keep an eye on my bike. Back on two wheels, I rode 20km until I needed a break, finding a well-shaded warung where I had a second lunch. After another 20km I reached Genteng, my current home.
