I knew in the night that I wasn’t going to feel very good when the day came. I woke with a headache and a sore throat. I still have a headache and sore throat now, though it hasn’t worsened. I decided not to leave Yangon and instead see if I get worse throughout the day. I’ll still see how I feel in the morning, but I’m fairly committed to going even if I feel sick. If I don’t go tomorrow then I won’t have enough time to enjoy my ride into the north of the country. I had some more interesting conversations with Jeff and got some more great advice about cycling. The more I meet people with a life overseas, the more I want one for myself. Depending on what purpose I find for myself, I could be very happy living in a foreign country and possibly happier than if I was home in Australia. Why? That is still something I am trying to work out, but one reason is that being in new places is more stimulating for my mind and I need lots of food for my very active mind.
