Day 533 (Myanmar Day 21)

I got a pretty good view of the inside of my knee today as the nurses cut out some dead skin and scraped out some super sticky pus. The pain was awful. At its height I thought about tattoos and that getting a tattoo would probably be hurting just as much. This made me accept the pain for a moment, but then my mind decided that choosing to have pain and being subjected to unwanted pain are two very different things. I returned to my previous state of thinking I was suffering the worst pain ever. The nurses’ work revealed a considerable hole. I was curious to inspect the layers of skin tissue, but quite alarmed by the fact that such a wound is probably going to take quite a while to heal. I might need to consider overstaying my Burmese visa. Fortunately, the consequences of doing so are minor. After my knee was abused, I got injected with antibiotics for a third time.
