I felt due for a break from the streets of Kolkata. Today I had one. As I emerged from a sleep in I met a Kiwi couple who have spent seven months cycling in North Africa, Europe and Asia (flying between main routes rather than one continuous journey). We had breakfast together at a nearby street stall. While they ventured out to explore, I returned home to research Bangladesh. I found out enough to know that I don’t need to know much. The terrain won’t be challenging, the people should be welcoming and food and accommodation should be cheap. That’s pretty much all I need to know! I’m getting excited to explore again. I also spent some time working out how I will go about getting visas for the Stans. Some of that rigmarole is going to be annoying, but nothing that pre-planning and patience won’t overcome. I had an afternoon nap (i.e. I passed out when I started reading my kindle) and in the evening I ventured out to film some night time activity.
