I battled with bad internet as I tried to find some basic information about eastern Nepal. I have identified two towns for which I can aim for my first night. I know that if I stick to main east-west highway the terrain will be relatively flat, but if I venture north things will get challenging pretty quickly. The former option is a bit boring, so the latter is the one I will likely go for. I know that cheap accommodation should be between AU$4-10 and that in between towns I shouldn’t expect too many problems with camping out. I know I should continue taking care of the water I drink and I know things will get cold very soon. Besides researching Nepal, I did some pretty serious washing. It’s been a long time since my clothes have been washed in something other than plain water (sometimes with a few squirts of shampoo). It took several buckets of water before the water started running clear. I’m pretty tired, owing to two nights watching movies until late. I like movies, so when I happen to have a room with a TV, I find it hard to tear myself away from the screen. I’m so tired I have started thinking about staying in Siliguri for another day. But I’m pretty sure I won’t. It’s time for Nepal.
