After picking up my swag from my brother’s house, I headed back to Forrestfield and spent the afternoon setting up the house for the night’s shenanigans. The place had to be swept, lights strung, hay bales spread and drinks cooled. With ten minutes up my sleeve I turned some scrap wood into a makeshift cow to complete the country/hoedown-themed shindig. Preparations complete, we faced that awkward time between having things ready and waiting for enough people to arrive to make it feel like a party. It didn’t take long before the night was in full swing though. For me it was a chance to catch up with a bunch of people I hadn’t got around to seeing since I’ve been back. My family came too. I stayed up to become one of the last few people standing, before throwing out my swag and crashing hard.
