After too little sleep I walked out of the house with Akram and to a busy intersection where we were picked up by a lady called Fauzia. Our road trip took us north past Abbottabad (where Bin Laden was found), to a function centre operated by the Adventure Foundation of Pakistan. Akram and Fauzia needed to attend a meeting there and I went along to enjoy the ride. In between dozing on the way I enjoyed watching the landscape change as we climbed into barren-looking hill country. At the Centre I sat around for a while listening the chit-chat of the Foundation’s members. When they went off for their meeting I got to know 15-year old Balaj and his six-year old cousin as we mucked around on a variety of rope swings and climbing apparatuses that were strewn between large trees scattered on the property. Our mild fun slowly turned into an epic game of chasy. It’s been a long time since I have ran intensely, and an even longer time since I have played chasy. I enjoyed both immensely. Things got quite competitive as we took things to the extreme by utilising all the climbing equipment. I’m pretty sure I’ll pay for my efforts tomorrow in the form of a stiff and sore body. I already have a massive bruise on my knee from stacking it while eluding Balaj.
