– The adventures of a solo round the world cyclist –

Sketches

Sketch banner (pic)I talk about my interest in art and why I like to draw on my Sketches Introduction page. Below are the various sketches I have completed as I cycle around the world.

Koka Beach (pic)

My own piece of paradise at Koka Beach on the Indonesian island of Flores, where I had a bamboo hut and this beach all to myself

Maubisse Church (pic)

The East Timorese are devout Catholics, so grand churches like this one in Maubisse dot the country

Magpie Goose (pic)

Portrait of a Magpie Goose. I saw many if these impressive creatures as I cycled in northern Australia.

On completing the Gibb River Road I was lucky to receive generous hospitality in Kununurra from my friends Shi and Q. This is their dog Ted.

Karijini Sketch

Seen so much: three sentinels stand watch over one of Karijini’s famous gorges

Beach (pic)

It is easy to find your own private little bay when travelling along the south coast of Western Australia

Charlie's farm (pic)

Charlie invited me to stay on his farm in Esperance, where I slept in an old caravan inside this shed

PERTH2

Perth, Western Australia (my home), as viewed across the Swan River from the South Perth foreshore
