Imagine packing some camping gear onto a bicycle and riding out of your driveway, not knowing when you might return. How far could you ride? What adventures would you find? What might you learn along the way? These are the kind of questions I sought to answer when I did just that. Come along for the ride!
Australia, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Pakistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, France – 28 countries and 29,600km.
Armed with a camcorder, I document the highs and lows of the adventure on film. The result is a video series that takes you on the journey of a lifetime. Watch as I learn what it’s like to travel on a bicycle, cross foreign countries and, ever so slowly, circumnavigate our planet.
Before going to sleep each night, I take hold of my worn diary and write about my day, motivated by its promise to forever give me a window into every single day of the adventure and bring rushing back to life moments I would otherwise forget. I have decided to share my writing in the form of a book. Stay tuned!
Life is full of so many distractions that we don’t often find the time to take a step back and really think about what we are doing with our lives and why. There is no better way to understand the world and your place in it than exploring the planet and seeing what possibilities and opportunities are out there. Don’t wait any longer. Dream it then do it!
